The Integrated School for the Arts Jamaica (ISAJ) offers two distinct graduation pathways tailored to different learning styles and tertiary goals. Both pathways integrate rigorous academics, immersive arts, personal development, and mandatory work experience to ensure every student achieves real-world readiness.

College Preparation Diploma

This track is engineered specifically for students demonstrating high academic aptitude, strong independent study habits, and the capacity to thrive within a fast-paced instructional environment.

The curriculum focuses heavily on advanced analytical reasoning and rigorous exam preparation, systematically equipping graduates for direct entry into competitive colleges, traditional universities, or specialized higher-education institutions both locally and across international borders.

What academic criteria are required to maintain a spot on this track?

Students placed on this track must demonstrate strong independent learning skills and the capacity to absorb information at an accelerated pace. Progress is evaluated through continuous assessment and regular milestone tracking. If a student experiences persistent difficulties keeping up with the fast-paced curriculum, faculty will coordinate directly with parents to evaluate if a transition to the Standard track would better support their educational development.

Does this diploma prepare students for international university applications?

Yes. The College Preparation Diploma is engineered specifically to ensure students meet the strict entry requirements for competitive tertiary education. The curriculum focuses heavily on advanced analytical reasoning and rigorous exam preparation, fully equipping graduates for direct placement into traditional universities, colleges, and specialized higher-education institutions both locally and internationally.

Standard School Leaving Diploma

This pathway delivers a highly structured, supportive alternative for creative and technically inclined students who may experience challenges with traditional, high-stakes external examinations like CSEC.

Rather than relying solely on conventional testing, this track measures and rewards consistent individual effort, measurable academic improvement, technical execution, and artistic merit, ensuring students earn a comprehensive secondary education geared toward recognized vocational and practical qualifications.

What recognized qualifications will my child receive upon graduating from this pathway?

Graduates on this track earn the ISAJ Standard School Leaving Diploma and are prepared for recognized vocational and practical certifications through bodies such as City & Guilds and NCTVET. Additionally, their practical readiness is solidified by completing the mandatory Capstone Programme, which includes intensive research projects and 320 hours (8 weeks) of hands-on professional work experience toward the National School Leaving Certificate (NSLC).

Foundational & Experiential Programmes

Pacers Programme (Grades 7–9)

Foundational mastery in Mathematics, English Language, a Science subject, an Arts subject, Personal Development, and an elective.

This track supports students with foundational challenges in reading, writing, and arithmetic through specialist coaching and parent-faculty milestone setting.

Capstone Programme

The final graduation milestone. Students complete intensive research projects, and professional internships.

They will also complete a mandatory 320 hours (8 weeks) of practical work experience toward qualification for the National School Leaving Certificate (NSLC).
